ONLY ONE PAN?
Some of us prefer simple cooking to eating out. As an experienced cook I'm unwilling to pay for a meal unless it has hard-to-find ingredients or employs skills or equipment I don't possess. And then there's the joy of relaxing with wine in the comfort' of my apartment, not worrying about finding my way back home, avoiding worries of night walking, and saving my purse for a Michelin star.
Sometimes I'm so enthralled by unique choices at a foreign market my only salvation is to cook. So cook I do, even when limited to a spoon, a pan, and a single burner. Here are a few things I pack since I know I might need them.
